Non-communicable diseases account for 60% of deaths worldwide and include but are not limited to cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic lung disease, mental illness, and injuries. The Noncommunicable Disease (NCD) Roundtable was founded in 2010 to be a neutral platform and credible voice for information sharing, advocacy, communications, collaboration, and best practices around NCD issues among members of the global health community and with global health decision makers in Washington, DC. Members of the NCD Roundtable agree that NCDs, including but not limited to cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic lung disease and mental illness, collectively represent one of the most important threats to health today. We are committed to helping create awareness about the global threat posed by NCDs, mobilizing prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care related to these diseases, and doing our utmost to eliminate the conditions that cause NCDs, including but not limited to tobacco use, physical inactivity, harmful use of alcohol and unhealthy diets.
